If you regularly feel exhausted, negative or down it's time to have a real close look at the kind of people you surround yourself with. Do you spend time with people who energise you? Who make you feel happy and elated when you are with them? Or do you spend the majority of your time with people who find fault in you, others and everything else. Who make you feel drained, sad and exhausted?
If it's the latter you need to start making a few changes now.
Start by listing all your friends, family, co-workers, neighbours etc. on a piece of paper. Write down all their names and put a plus sign next to them if they make you feel good and a minus sign if they don't.
Then take all the people with a minus sign next to their name and put them in order. At the top should be the person that makes you feel worst.
The goal is to limit your exposure to them as much as
possible and with some people it will be as easy as crossing them off the list. You can always replace your grumpy butcher with a happier one. Others won't be that easy to deal with because they are part of your family, your work or close friends.
We will have a look at a few potential strategies to deal with
these in my next blog.
